ARETHUSA DECEPTION BAY CAMPUS - ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
As the Deception Bay Campus of Arethusa College expanded, the client
highlighted the need for a larger administration building as their temporary demountable
building was increasingly not meeting their needs. The brief from the client was to provide
varied spaces for the growing administration and teaching staff and to also
provide a bold architectural statement upon entering the campus. This was achieved through the use of an embossed school logo planted
onto an angled red blade wall which provided an end cap for the horizontal
nature of the remainder of the building which allowed for expansion in the
future. The building features a modern palette of materials and finishes which
is best captured in the large angled canopy over the metal portal and glazed
entrance.
